The demonstration event took place at the experimental farm of the University of Almeria which has a semi-commercial farm of approximately 2 hectares, where tomatoes are grown. The demonstration organised by UAL and COEXPHAL showcased various technologies such as temperature sensors, pH sensors, moisture sensors, CO2 injection systems, radiation sensors, soil properties sensors, solar panels, irrigation systems, etc., all implemented at farm level. These technologies are integrated through a software platform enabling their interoperability. An integration of all data generated by the IoT ecosystem, facilitates optimised control and management such as water, climate and irrigation to develop new control techniques and algorithms. The event brought together researchers, farmers, policymakers, advisors, and supply chain actors from various European countries as part of an international cross-visit. The visit was organised into different stations, each showcasing various technologies.
