The event is organized by the BioSense Institute (Greenhouse Smart Sensor Technology Living Lab) and is designed for a wide range of stakeholders - farmers, researchers/scientists, technology developers and providers, governing bodies, and students - from Serbia and the Western Balkans. At this online Farminar, the BioSense Institute will present concrete data, insights, and conclusions from a pilot project conducted at the demonstration farm in Kovilj, focusing on greenhouse vegetable production. Over the past two years, this farm has served as a showcase example of digitalization: BioSense researchers have installed digital sensors to monitor key parameters such as soil moisture, temperature, and air humidity, enabling the farmer and agricultural advisor to track data in real time and make more precise decisions on daily operations. The event will include: - An overview of digital technology applied in greenhouses - Presentation of results from the demonstration farm in Kovilj - A cost-benefit analysis of digitalization - Discussion on challenges and opportunities for small and medium-sized farmers - A Q&A session with BioSense experts, the farm owner, and the agricultural advisor The technology showcased includes digital sensor-based solutions and communication modules aimed at achieving optimal, efficient, and sustainable agricultural production. The main objective of this Farminar is to raise awareness among stakeholders about the economic, social, and environmental benefits of digital technologies in agriculture. The event is online, in Serbian language, and will be held on October 23rd, at 10 a.m. Participation is open to all interested stakeholders.
