Digitalisation holds great potential to support sustainable agricultural and rural development in Europe, but its impact depends heavily on the quality and coherence of the policies that guide its implementation. This CODECS webinar explores how evidence-based policy tools can support more effective, inclusive, and sustainable digital transitions in agriculture. Sustainability is understood here in its broadest sense – encompassing social, environmental, economic, and cultural aspects.
This event will showcase and discuss key tools developed through the CODECS project. These include checklists to guide public investment, and guidelines for designing local digitalisation strategies. These tools are based on research across multiple work packages and insights from co-construction activities involving stakeholders across the science-policy spectrum.
This session presents these tools designed to:
- Engage the dialogue with researchers, policymakers and practitioners on enhancing policy effectiveness for sustainable digital agriculture at different governance bodies.
- Support adaptative governance and enable policymakers to respond to the rapid pace of technological change and evolving challenges.
- Gain insights into evidence-based approaches for monitoring, evaluation and guiding public investments in digital agricultural and rural development initiatives.
