The recently concluded EU Agri Research Conference 2023, organized by the European Commission, brought together a diverse group of leading experts, researchers, and stakeholders in the field of agriculture. The conference, held in Brussels from May 31st to June 2nd, served as a platform to discuss on the future of agriculture and research, to showcase innovative projects and foster discussions on the future of sustainable food production. With a focus on research and innovation, the event aimed to provide valuable insights and guidance for the agricultural sector, while allowing participants to contribute the European Commission’s long-term research agenda and strategic plan for the agricultural sector.
One of the key objectives of the conference was to explore future priority investments in research and innovation that are crucial to supporting agriculture, forestry, and rural areas. Attendees gained valuable insights into the impact of research and innovation activities on farmers, foresters, and individuals living in rural communities. By understanding how these activities contribute to the development and sustainability of the agricultural sector, participants were equipped to shape the long-term research agenda for the industry and influence the strategic plan known as Horizon Europe 2025-2027.
Furthermore, the EU Agri Research Conference witnessed the active participation of CODECS, who showcased their initiatives and achievements through a dedicated stand located in the main corridor of the conference venue. The CODECS team not only engaged with other attendees and established valuable networks but also made significant contributions to the communication efforts of the conference, including the recording of testimonials from impactful Horizon projects. Their active presence and involvement enhanced the overall exchange of knowledge and expertise during the event, while the lessons learned from the conference will be applied within the activities of CODECS, further driving progress in their ongoing project.
