CAP Network Ireland recently interviewed Gianluca Brunori, from the University of Pisa and coordinator of the Horizon CODECS project, to discuss the project’s mission and impact. CODECS is dedicated to improving the collective capacity of farmers to understand, assess and foresee the full range of benefits and costs of farm digitalisation, and to build digital ecosystems that maximise the net benefits of digitalisation.
Brunori highlighted how CODECS bridges the gap between ecological and digital transitions, ensuring that digital technologies are implemented in a sustainable and context-aware manner.

A key outcome of the project will be user-friendly tools to help farm advisors and policymakers assess and select digital solutions that best fit their specific agricultural and policy environments.
The project is building a dynamic network—the CODECS Knowledge Accelerator—bringing together practitioners, policymakers, and researchers in sustainable agricultural digitalisation. Interested stakeholders are invited to join by registering on the CODECS website.
