How the farm is managed

Technology

The wireless sensor nodes based on LoRaWAN wireless network is a hardware and software technology. The purpose of this technology is to provide farmers with valuable and timely data about their vegetable greenhouse production by combining hardware devices and a software platform. By using this technology a farmer can monitor the production process and act appropriately to maximise production outputs. The features which distinguish it from other solutions are the integration into farm management system AgroSense which can also provide satellite images, weather information and forecast, some recommendations for agrotechnical measures, parcel diary of activities, and more. A variety of different sensors are placed in greenhouses across the farm. Sensors are collecting information about humidity, temperature, and other indicators and sending the data to the mobile app where farmer can monitor the data in real time and make decisions about the production process. The usage of this technology should save time for the farmers and reduce their physical efforts needed for monitoring the production process. It reduces pollution as with accurate and timely data less inputs will be put into the production. Finally, it will increase yields as plants will have better care by advanced monitoring.
