The CODECS Platform serves as a centralised hub for cutting-edge digital tools and research, driving the adoption of technologies aligned with sustainable farming practices. Its intuitive and user-friendly control panel allows provides seamless access to resources, enabling users to manage them effortlessly through a single, unified interface.
A Platform Built for Its Users
Designed to meet the diverse needs of its stakeholders (farmers, policymakers, researchers, and AKIS – Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems – actors), CODECS Platform prioritises transparency, accessibility, and ease of use. It provides a comprehensive meta-inventory of digital technologies, leveraging the successes of established platforms such as FAIRshare, DESIRA, Smart-AKIS, NUTRI-CHECK NET, and IPMworks.
This inventory offers a centralised overview of state-of-the-art technologies across various domains, tailored to the application scenarios of CODECS Living Labs (LLs). It empowers users to explore the dynamic landscape of agricultural technologies and emerging trends, enabling informed decisions about technology adoption and innovation.
What’s Next for the CODECS Platform?
- Inventory of Datasets: By 2025, datasets generated through CODECS will become publicly accessible. The platform’s inventory of datasets will provide storage capabilities for authorised users while offering centralised access to all. This repository will unlock the potential of CODECS data sources, enabling objective decision-making and supporting conflict resolution across various aspects of digitalisation.
- Digital Impact Assessment Tools: In the coming months, the platform will release its first set of tools for evaluating the costs and benefits of farm digitalisation. These tools will enable users to assess economic, environmental, and social impacts comprehensively. By the end of 2025, they will be fully integrated into the Platform with a user-friendly interface for ease of access.
- Virtual Demonstration Tools: To inspire broader adoption, the Platform will feature interactive online handbooks and other virtual tools, highlighting real-life examples from the CODECS Living Labs. These resources aim to enhance societal engagement and demonstrate the practical benefits of sustainable digital practices.
