Technology

To preserve and increase Latvia's natural meadows, the Latvian Nature Foundation (LDF) has developed a new brand, "Product of Natural Meadows". The brand was unveiled on 31 January, 2024, when it was also awarded to the first producers of natural meadow products. In future, the LDF will award the "Product of Natural Meadows" label to producers who manage natural meadows and produce products such as honey, herbal teas, meat, dairy products, as well as rural tourism facilities and crafts. By choosing products with this brand, consumers will support the preservation and restoration of natural values, producers who manage natural meadows, and also obtain high-quality products. The digital solution represents the location and attribute data of the respective farms on the map for the society on the ZSA DIH platform. ​Provides ZSA DIH for the publication and dissemination of data and detailed information about farms awarded the “Product of Natural Meadows” label, which promotes the restoration of natural values, highlights exemplary natural farms, and showcases their high-quality products. These can be easily and conveniently located on the web map at https://app.smartagro.lv. DIH will always enable the publication of the latest data and provide regular updates about natural meadow farmers. It will allow end users to easily trace the origin of all natural meadow products. The technological solution will enable information to be updated as often as necessary.
